AIRLINE OFFICERS GILT CAP BADGE 🇬🇧✈️
An extremely scarce 1940’s original ‘BOAC large gilded brass cap badge' bearing a griffin on torse within an oak leaf wreath surmounted by an astral crown, the reverse with original two loop fittings. Excellent condition, service wear to gilt finish almost back to brass.
Height 49mm.
British Overseas Airways Corporation was the British state-owned airline created in 1939 by the merger of Imperial Airways and British Airways Ltd. 
It continued operating overseas services throughout World War II. 
BOAC Ceased operations on 31st March 1974. It then merged with British European Airways to form British Airways 🇬🇧✈️
